The weather held up on Saturday, with the splitting the trees and conditions unlike what we've witnessed in Ireland over the past few months, however, overnight on Saturday the weather turned to provide us with another wet NPS for 2008.
Here's how the riders fared.
U14
Dan Sheridan of Flow Racing continued his winning form with his fifth win of the NPS to gather a total of 250 points ahead of Chain Reaction Cycles's Christopher McGlinchy who took his fourth second place of the year with a time of 2.23.471. Cameron Cornforth placed third with a respectable 2.37.027 to complete the podium.
U16
Gavin Carroll took his third win of the 2008 season with a time of 2.09.880 ahead of Gavin Kelly. Gavin Kelly completed his second run in a time of 2.18.751 to take silver, while Chain Reaction Cycles Kyle Rimmer took third place on the podium with a first run time of 2.22.365.
Supervets
Four supervets turned out to get a place on the podium. Tom Sheridan showed his form after his extended break in Europe by taking first place with a time of 2.47.871. Back on a scene for the was Vincent Bradley who took a silver medal with a time of 3.07.216, ahead of Flow Racing's Peter Popham who took third on the podium ahead of Papa TC, Tom Clogher.
Vets
A big turnout for the vets category saw Carl Young take his fourth win of the season with a first run time of 2.26.694. Joe Jackman took home a silver medal with a second run time of 2.30.543 and his best result of the year, ahead of local lad Dave McManus who managed a second run time of 2.46.043 to take home the bronze medal.
Women
A small women's category, rumour has it due to a DH girls night out in the form of Michele Macartney's hen night. Maeve Baxter took the hen night to the track with her boppers to take a first run time of 2.43.715, 19 seconds ahead of second place. Epic's Natalie Jedda placed second with a time of 3.03.065 while newcomer to the Irish ladies scene, Stephanie Shaw took third place!
Sport
Michael Domaradzski tyok his best result of the year with a win in the sport category on a first run time of 2.23.359. Almost four seconds slower, James O'Reilly registered a second run time of 2.27.244 to take home the silver medal while Kevin Moran missed out a the silver medal by a second with consistent first and second runs and a time of 2.28.221 to complete the podium.
Senior
Dave Egan took his third win of the year with a first run time of 2.06.633 ahead of Epic's Alastair Maxwell. Alastair managed a second run time of 2.09.090 to take home the silver medal while Banbridge's Chris Mallen completed the podium with a second run time of 2.09.957 to take home the bronze medal.
Masters
It was a CRC filled podium with Michael Cowan, Dale McMullan and Ian McIntyre taking home the gold, silver and bronze consecutively. Michael completed a first run time of 2.08.061, 0.091 ahead of team mate Dale with Ian McIntyre putting in a second run time of 2.13.966 to complete the podium.
Junior
Ewan Doherty took his third win of the year, taking home his gold medal with a first run time of 1.58.699, unable to finish his second run following a crash. Seanan O'Riordan in a similar manner, took his his third silver of the season, 3.304 seconds behind Ewan with a second run time of 2.02.003 with Flow Racing's David Kennan continuing his good form with two consistent runs and a time of 2.02.509, only half a second off second place to take home the bronze.
Elite
Gerard Wolfe took his first win of the year with a second run time of 1.52.09, over two seconds ahead of second place Irisih champion Colin Ross. Colin completed a second run in 1.54.402 for the silver medal, with Jamie 'Turkey' McCullough taking third place with a time of 1.59.515.
